Fashion Design in Vietnam 2018

I created fashion for Ladies Fashion Company in Vietnam for German customers especially for OTTO Group, Heine, Klingel, Witt and HSE 24. Our main products have been ladies tops and dresses, skirts and some trousers, jackets and coats.
Further markets are Europe and the USA.
I was hired to guide a team of 3 Designer to meet our target group's special requirements and needs.

Sometimes the gap between your ideas and the specification of the firm you work for can be huge. It is always a challenge to find your way to handle it and to do a good job and in this case especially considering that the main language was Vietnamese. To be patient, open-minded and flexible are fundamental. Howsoever it was an exciting period for me. I got a lot of insights into the various field of a big fashion company and how to work hand in hand with the suppliers, pattern maker and tailor.

Winter 2019

The farewell dinner with my boss and my lovely colleagues was very hearty. It was a short but also a great time here in Ho Chi Minh City.

In Guongzhou we also visited one of our supplier for laces and ribbons and exploited the opportunity to choose material for our collections.

Afterwards we received an invitation to lunch. The traditional local Chinese food has nothing to do with the Chinese food I know from Europe. The meal included scorpions and bird heads…my motto: smile and try… J

We bought fabric in Guangzhou (China) for the summer and winter collection. I expected a big market but it was more than that. It is a huge district, entire streets and high buildings with several floors. Thankfully one of our suppliers, Mr. Ma supported us.
